As the resistance camps at Standing Rock are gearing up for winter, the Climate Disobedience Center is sending tangible solidarity in the forms of two new large canvas tents with wood stoves. This kind of setup will be critical for holding their ground despite the severe winter cold. The tents are 12'x14' heavy duty wilderness tents by the Wall Tent Shop. They are currently on their way to Standing Rock, thanks to some transportation help from our friends with the Backbone Campaign. They will arrive in a few days, where they will be handed off to Kandi Mossett of the Indigenous Environmental Network.
The total cost for the two complete tent packages was $3716, of which Tim is personally covering $500. We need to raise the other $3216, plus the extra roughly 10% that is taken out by our fiscal sponsor and Paypal, for a total of $3550. Thanks for joining us in solidarity with one of the boldest and most inspiring resistance campaigns in the climate movement.
